During the past decade, Turkey has emerged as a major exporter of agricultural products, both to the Middle East and other markets.

The production of all citrus fruit increased in marketing year (MY) 2013. Exports increased in MY 2013 because of the high production and favorable prices.

EU-28 citrus production is forecast at approximately 11 MMT, a slight decrease of 3.2 percent from the previous campaign.
