Data and Analysis
Post projects Calendar Year (CY)2026 Argentine poultry production at 2.58 million metric tons (MT), up 50,000 MT from updated CY2025 estimates, based on slowly growing domestic demand. CY2026 exports are projected at 150,000 MT, slightly less than downwardly-revised CY2025 estimates, based on expectations Argentina will continue navigating the closure of several overseas markets due to a Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) outbreak in late August 2025.
Argentina is set to remain a powerhouse in global beef trade, with 2026 exports forecast at 830,000 tons carcass weight equivalent (CWE), the second highest on record. Robust international prices and a more competitive peso are breathing new life into packer margins.
Argentina’s biofuels sector is expected to remain subdued without significant policy reform, as there is little political will to advance biofuels policies and the current law caps mandate levels.
