Bosnia and Herzegovina: FAIRS Country Report Annual

This report provides information on the food and agricultural product import requirements for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Important points of contact for U.S. food exporters are listed in the appendices.
This report is a supplementary follow-up to the 2025 Senegal Grain and Feed Annual, covering rice in Guinea, Mali, and Burkina Faso. Despite a 13 percent drop in area harvested due to flooding in MY 2024/25, Mali continues to be the largest rice producer among the three countries.
The United States Department of Agriculture, led by the Animal Plant Health Inspection Service, finalized new export health certificates for several animal products in three West African countries.
On April 2, 2025, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s State Veterinary Office introduced precautionary measures to prevent the spread of foot-and-mouth disease by requiring FMD-free certification for imported live cattle, pigs, sheep, and goats, and establishing disinfection barriers at border crossings.

Cambodia: Cambodia Ends Frozen Pork Offal Ban

On March 11, 2025, the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia announced the import ban on frozen pork offal would end on March 12, 2025. Cambodia placed a temporary ban on several types of Frozen offal in March 2024, the ban on all other affected products was lifted in September 2024.
Cambodia’s imports of soybean meal (SBM) and dried distillers grains (DDGs) in 2024 increased 6 percent year-on-year to 173 thousand metric tons (TMT), equivalent to 9 percent of Cambodia’s actual feed production.

Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) 2009 “Law on Genetically Modified Organisms” (GMOs) and associated bylaws authorize the import of genetically engineered (GE) products. To date, the only GE product approved for import is soybean meal for feed.

Cambodian rice farmers shifted production in 2023/24 toward short-term dry-season rice and used more inputs, resulting in higher production. Rice exports are revised higher with strong demand from neighboring countries and expansion to new export markets.
