Japan: Stone Fruit Annual

Japan’s fresh cherry production has been substantially impacted by a changing climate. Fresh cherry production in the 2024/25 marketing year (MY) is estimated to fall to 14,700 metric tons (MT) because of damage from high temperatures in the largest volume production region.
After hitting bottom during the previous season, Spain’s fodder production and exports are set to recover in MY 2024/25. A combination of higher area and yields are projected to bring fodder production to average levels.
On March 1, 2024, the Japan Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) launched a greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction labeling system for 23 domestically-produced agricultural products.
