On July 10, 2023, the People’s Republic of China (PRC), State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) released revised Administrative Measures for Product Formula Registration of Formula Milk Powder for Infants and Young Children.

Hong Kong does not have any certification changes for food imports since the last report submitted in July 2022.

The State Administration for Market Regulation issued the General Quality Standard for Nut and Seed Food, which will come into force on August 1, 2023.

Taiwan has completed implementing new certification requirements for imported meat products. The changes occurred in two phases: 1) October 1, 2022 was the effective date for new certification requirements for livestock and poultry; 2) July 1, 2023 was the effective date for canned meat products.

All foods sold in Australia must comply with a range of laws designed to protect consumer, plant, and animal health. These laws apply equally to imported and locally produced foods.
