Vietnam: Rice Trade - Monthly

This report provides trade data on Vietnam's monthly rice exports by grade and destination and weekly export quotes for rice by grade.
The Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) on October 31, 2022 completed and published the risk analysis for fresh apples (Malus domestica) from the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon and Idaho). In the report, DAFF recommended that the import of commercially produced fresh apples from the Pacific Northwest be permitted provided they meet the biosecurity import conditions.

Thailand: Rice Price - Weekly

Export prices decreased 1-2 percent due to further weakening of the Thai baht.
Since September 8, 2022, the People’s Republic of China (PRC) National Development Reform Commission (NDRC) has auctioned 127,100 metric tons (MT) of frozen pork reserves as an attempt to curb rising prices. However, despite numerous auctions and other PRC market guidance, domestic prices continue to rise.
The Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) recently stepped up its enforcement of fresh animal product registrations. These new requirements are just two of the many provisions contained in MOA Regulation Number 15 Year 2021.

Ukraine: Dairy and Products Annual

Dairy cow inventory is expected to decrease significantly in 2022. The decrease is driven by a war-related economic downturn, direct animal losses in war-affected areas and a historic reduction in less-efficient animals. Fluid milk and dairy product outputs are expected to drop notably in 2022. The decline will continue in 2023 due to the reduced animal number and continued war-related economic downturn.

Indonesia: Food Service - Hotel Restaurant Institutional

The Indonesian foodservice industry is valued at USD$22.8 billion, making it the largest market in Southeast Asia. Leading U.S. food prospects in this market include cheese, frozen potatoes, beef, fruits, pork, wine, and tree nut products that mostly used by international hotel chains, high-end restaurants, and international fast-food chains.
From September 6-8, 2022, the Agricultural Trade Office (ATO) in Hong Kong hosted the strongest national pavilion at Restaurant and Bar, one of the largest food trade shows in Hong Kong. Seven U.S. exhibitors showcased their quality products to over 8,000 trade visitors.
On September 23, 2022, the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC) published 2022 Special Announcement Number 88 amending the customs clearance declaration requirements for importers or consignees of non-cold chain products to require a declaration on whether “preventive disinfection has been implemented” (according to the “Standards for On-site Disinfection Evaluation During the COVID-19 Epidemic” (WS/T 774-2021).
On August 17, 2022, the People’s Republic of China (PRC), National Health Commission (NHC) released an updated Catalogue of National Food Safety Standards. The updated list features 1,455 standards covering food products, additives, quality specifications, testing methods, and production practices.
