In 2023, Bulgarian imports from the United States surpassed the $100 million mark for the first time. The growth was due to a substantial increase in Bulgarian imports of U.S. beef, tree and ground nuts, food preparation, whiskies, animal feed, and wood.

The high number of rainy days and unusually cool November slowed the corn harvest; about 10%-20% of corn was estimated to be still in the fields at the end of November.

Bulgaria already exported its rapeseeds surplus with exports reaching 460,000 MT at the end of November.
