MY2019/20 rice production is revised down further due to ineffective control of the outbreaks of blast disease on the main rice crop and limited water supplies for off-season rice plantings.
MY2016/17 rice and corn production is well underway due to favorable precipitation.
MY2017/18 cultivation for main-crop rice and corn is occurring much sooner than MY2016/17 cultivation due to favorable rainfall and sufficient reservoir levels.
U.S. agricultural exports to Southeast Asia have experienced extremely rapid growth in recent years and, in FY 2014, they climbed to a record $11.5 billion – up 11 percent from FY 2013.
Forecast rice exports for 2014 are revised up to 9.5 million metric tons.
