Pakistan’s 2016/17 cotton production is forecast at 8.25 million 480 lb bales, up 250,000 bales from the previous estimate.
Rains have caused flooding in five states, although pan-India rainfall is three percent below the 10-year average for the southwest monsoon (June 1 through Aug. 28).
