El Salvador: Agricultural Biotechnology Annual 2014

In 2008, El Salvador abolished the Planting Seed Law that required imported seeds to have a phytosanitary certificate with an additional declaration stating that the seeds did not contain GMOs.
Since January 2014, the Burkinabe National Biosafety Agency (NBA) has been converting the status of the organization to a technical and scientific public institution (EPSET) for greater autonomy.
Following a near six month regulatory review, the Vietnam Minister of Agriculture signed the first four Certificates for Food and Feed Safety for four genetically modified corn traits.
On June 26, 2014, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) published Circular 20/2014/TT-BNNPTNT on stipulating some assignments and competencies to manage agricultural materials.
