Russia: Temporary Export Ban on Some Hides and Skins

On April 21, 2015, the Russian Government issued Decree No. 378 imposing a temporary export ban on hides and skins which fall under HS codes 410411 and 410419 from May 25 until November 25, 2015. According to the Government release, the measure should help ensure a stable supply of raw materials for domestic leather and footwear producers, as well as state defense needs. The new measure comes on the heels of a similar 6-month export ban on the same items, which expired on April 1, 2015.
