Peru: Peru Imposes Steep Fines for Non-Compliance with Biotech Moratorium

On March 14, 2015, Peru’s Ministry of the Environment announced a fine structure ranging from $62,000 to $1.2 million for any company in non-compliance with the 10 year moratorium on genetically modified organisms.
