This report provides an overview of Burma’s fruit market and highlights opportunities for U.S. fruit exporters to Burma. China and Thailand are Burma’s primary trading partners. Imports of U.S. fruits typically arrive overland from Thailand. Despite political, economic and environmental challenges, there is a growing market for imported fruits in Burma. The most promising prospects for U.S. fruit suppliers to Burma include apples, cherries, mandarins, peaches, grapes, oranges, lemons, strawberries, and blueberries.
