Australia: Australian Government Provides Logistical Support to Exporters

In response to the reduction in commercial flights as a result of COVID-19 and the impact this is having on exports of Australian agriculture and seafood products, the Government of Australia announced an AU$110 million program (currently about US$70 million) to help exporters get their products to international markets. Eligible products include premium red meat, dairy, horticulture, and seafood. Australian shipments of agricultural and seafood products via air has grown in recent years, reaching US$3.6 billion in 2019.

FAS New Delhi maintains India’s centrifugal sugar production for marketing year (MY) 2025/26 at 35 million metric tons (MMT) (raw value basis), equivalent to 33 MMT of crystal sugar. This is supported by favorable rainfall during the 2024 southwest monsoon, which facilitated planting, and the 2025 monsoon which facilitated enhanced yields.
